Domestic Policy – Other Issues

A majority of poor, urban children of color reading below grade level in our public school, decade after decade, with no end in sight. Unsustainable illegal immigration levels filling our hospitals and schools with costly demands on free services funded by working families. Sex offenders being returned right back to the neighborhoods of their victims.

These are just a few of the challenges we will address here in the months ahead. The first step towards solving these serious problems is some Tough Love discussion of them. Brace yourselves.

We, not the illegals, get to decide who enters America Who should decide who may come to America? U.S. citizens, or foreigners? Every other nation decides who can enter their borders. We should do the same.	Arizona’s immigration enforcement law, SB 1070, is a legal and needed measure. The Obama Democrats are wrong to sue to block it. Arizona is on the front lines of the federal government’s refusal to secure our borders. Hundreds of thousands of illegals have crossed into Arizona and then receive free health care, free schooling, and other federally-mandated state benefits. Arizona had no choice but to fill the void.
Ground Zero Mosque: Bailout coming? The controversy surrounding the proposed Ground Zero Mosque, also known as Cordoba House or Park 51, may lead to a government bailout. We should oppose such a bailout while working to have the site moved.	Should Ben Quayle win the GOP primary for AZ CD3 in 2010? Our view was other candidates were better suited to be the choice of the GOP for 2010, but his 23% or so of the vote was enough to make him the primary winner and he will certainly vote in Congress better than the Democrat would.
