Immigration Reform

Immigration is a vital part of what makes America great. But unchecked illegal immigration, through which millions of people can enter our country for any reason, threatens our security, our prosperity, and our national identity. We must secure our borders and assert our basic right, as citizens, to decide who may come here. Just like every other country on the planet already does.

We, not the illegals, get to decide who enters America Who should decide who may come to America? U.S. citizens, or foreigners? Every other nation decides who can enter their borders. We should do the same.	Arizona’s immigration enforcement law, SB 1070, is a legal and needed measure. The Obama Democrats are wrong to sue to block it. Arizona is on the front lines of the federal government’s refusal to secure our borders. Hundreds of thousands of illegals have crossed into Arizona and then receive free health care, free schooling, and other federally-mandated state benefits. Arizona had no choice but to fill the void.
Amnesty today means 25 million more illegals tomorrow Twenty-five million or more would-be illegals are watching closely. If amnesty is granted to the 10-15 million already here, the message is clear: ignore our laws and someday we will give you a free pass as well. America cannot afford the next 25 million poor illegals.	Robust legal immigration is essential to our future We need a reformed and robust legal immigration system to help sustain our nation’s greatness for the decades to come. This includes inviting skilled engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs to come here, in addition to other hard-working people who want to share in the American dream. As we secure the border we must remember that immigration done right can be a boon for us and our children.
