Rewarding illegal immigration punishes those seeking to come here legally

Highly-skilled foreigners hoping to come to America to start businesses, treat the sick, work hard and pay taxes, are waiting in line for legal immigration slots. The wait can reach 10 years or longer to get here legally! Meanwhile, politicians want to reward 12 million others who broke the law and cut ahead of those waiting lawfully, by granting them amnesty. This does not only invite the next 25 million to come here illegally, it treats with contempt the upstanding foreigners working hard and playing by the rules we gave them for immigrating to our country.

We should put any notions of amnesty on hold while we work to cut the waits that the highly-skilled must endure to share in the American dream and become tax-paying members of our society. Let’s not make a mockery of those who obey our laws.
