Cultural pollution: the war on childhood
Our generation buys organic milk, recycles, and makes sure our children don’t drink out of containers that might leech plastics. But our generation is the first, it seems, that has given up the fight to protect our children from cultural pollution. It can be overwhelming where everywhere we turn, our children are bombarded with crass (or worse) messages designed to make adults rich at the expense of children’s innocence. But it is wrong to throw in the towel. If you stand up and speak out, you will be surprised how many parents across the political spectrum will join you!
Technology, adult greed and moral decay have made it harder to let our kids be kids. But we can roll back the war on childhood. Some of it is entirely in your control, in your home. Other parts of it require you to find your voice to object in defense of your kids and our society. You may get called uncool. Get over it. What’s uncool is being afraid to protect your family because you might get called a name.
Here, we will discuss the problem of cultural pollution and the war on childhood. We’ll also give you tips and strategies to fight back.
