There are few areas where the bipartisan elite has been so famously wrong over the last few decades as in foreign affairs. Iraq? Mishandled. Vietnam? Mishandled. Iran? Mishandled. China’s ascent? Mishandled. Castro’s Cuba? Um, he’s still there, his people still suffering. So if you take nothing else from this site, please remember this: the so-called foreign policy “experts” working today have a lousy track record protecting America’s vital interests around the world, and in fact, their instincts are probably more unsound than the average American’s. So stop assuming that you can ignore foreign affairs because smart people in Washington, DC have your back.
RIGHT NOW, the “experts” are letting Iran develop a nuclear arsenal. And the “experts” have cheered as U.S. companies have handed over their top technologies to companies controlled by the dictatorship in China, while exporting our manufacturing jobs to China and other places where workers’ salaries are kept artificially low. We love the lower prices, too, but it’s long past time for some honest talk about the hidden costs our nation will pay in the future from enjoying these artificially low prices today.
