China Truths
The Chinese people are wonderful, hard-working people who have endured horrific hardships over the last century. Too bad their government is a dictatorship that oppresses its people. And too bad the US media and most American politicians refuse to tell the truth about China, both good and bad. We’re here to talk truth about China. China analysis in the United States consists, on the one hand, of a very small group of critics who are blinded by their antipathy to China’s autocratic government. Thus, they find fault with everything they see there.
On the other hand sits a massive, fawning universe of China apologists. This includes major players in media, business, academia and politics. These people are in awe of everything they see in China, and/or are afraid ever to be critical of China’s shortcomings out of fear of angering important people who benefit by capitulating to the Chinese government’s every demand. These two perspectives leave our country nearly devoid of sensible, level-headed analysis about China’s strengths, China’s weaknesses, and where China is a threat to our future prosperity or safety, and where it is not.
